Train for rush hour, not idle screens

New cashiers need three skills: find items fast, handle held sales, and call a supervisor for voids. Everything else can wait until week two.

Lesson plan (90 minutes)

  1. Login and shift open (10 min)
  2. Sell three item types: scan, search, manual (20 min)
  3. Held sale and recall (15 min)
  4. Supervisor void with PIN (15 min)
  5. Close shift and read the receipt (10 min)
  6. Practice queue with timer (20 min)

Certification

Cashier signs off when they complete ten error-free transactions under observation—not when they watch a video.
